Patient Advocates and Patient Navigators are just two of many terms that describe people who understand the system of care that can seem like a labyrinth of mirrors.  Often, people who have decided to perform these functions have ourselves experienced the overwhelm of being in crisis and having to struggle to find our way through the resources we knew could help, but were hard to access.
